Introduction / Summary (2018): Hello and welcome to our Sexuality pages. While this is not a pornographic site, it is provocative - founded upon what people search on the Internet (which is very interesting!). We then relate this to our biological and cultural evolution.
Sex is obviously important to people - and if you want to improve your sexual relationships then knowing the truth about our human evolution is the best foundation. By opening our minds to a greater diversity of behaviors, this knowledge will help you creatively cultivate healthy pleasurable moral attitudes and sexy smutty relationships (free from religious guilt & cultural myths).
Support an open honest discussion on the truth of our sexual evolution and behaviour. If you support sex positive, moral, informed sexual behaviour please share this knowledge. (These pages have a diverse collection of fascinating information relating to our human sexual evolution so people will appreciate it - see our 'nice letters' page!).
Sincerely, Karene.

Preteens
Evolution, Culture, Beauty, Sex Education, Girls &
Boys Puberty, Fashion, Advertising, Role Models, Parenting, Safety on the
Internet
Hello. Thanks for visiting our evolutionary philosophy of human sexuality pages. We are currently researching good quality sites relating to our biological and cultural sexual evolution - as a way of collecting and presenting the most important / latest knowledge and research.
Below you will find summaries of articles & websites on Preteens, i.e. latest research on evolution and child sexuality, health & development, puberty, sex education, friends, family, parenting advice, beauty, culture, fashion & clothing, role models, positive self esteem, safety on the internet and the law.
'Preteen' gets a large number of searches on the internet (40,000, ranked top 40). This is even more popular than 'teen' (30,000, ranked top 70). As all the top related keywords are sex based, this strongly suggests that males are aroused / attracted to this age group, where preteen is a 'safer' search than 'child p*rn' (18,000, ranked 140).
The top related searches are;
preteen
(40,933), preteen
models (30,079), pre... model (10,701), pre... sex (10,000), pre...
lolita (9,476), pre... nude (8,334), pre... girls (8,150), pre... porn (7,034),
pre... pussy (3,189), nude preteens (2,364)
While these results may be disturbing to many people, it is also very interesting from an evolutionary perspective. Further ideas to explore are:
Our evolved instincts of beauty (youth, health, fertility).
Cultural laws and morality. Age of consent in different cultures and times.
Humans also have an instinct for culture, to be programmed. Preteens are well recognised as consumers. Studies on the manipulation of children by advertising.
The fashion / beauty industry is largely run by men. They are presenting fashions and ideas that they find sexually attractive i.e. padded bra tops, short skirts and makeup for young girls.
History of child sexuality - how cultural ideas have changed over time.
The attraction to this transitional period from childhood to fertile young adult.
The behaviour of preteens. Tendency of young girls to act older than they are, to be fascinated with older girls, learning how to be a woman, how to manipulate others to get what they want, using their beauty / innocence / flirting?
We are not supporting preteen or teen sex. What we do support is a truthful
discussion about these subjects. It is important to understand the truth
about our evolution, such that we can better understand our instincts and
how to regulate them in socially acceptable ways (where morality is enlightened
from true foundations, rather than religious / cultural myth). We hope you
find the following articles & websites informative and useful.

Preteens: A Definition & Psychological Development
A Preteen or pre-teen refers to a stage of human development during childhood. Typically a preteen is eight years old or older and is not yet adolescent (that is, has not yet undergone puberty).
Preteens are developing a more realistic view of the world in several ways:
* More realistic fears (eg. kidnappings, rapes, and scary media events,
as opposed to fantasy things such as witches, monsters, etc.)
* More realistic job expectations
* More responsibilities around the home
* More nuanced view of human relationships
* A more developed sense of self and identity
* Increased feelings of independence
* More nuanced view of morality
* More mature, sensible, realistic thoughts and actions
* Gaining knowledge of sexual intercourse
While these traits may sound similar to those of teenagers, preteens think more similarly to children than they do to teenagers, and these traits are still very undeveloped.
Many schools attempt to develop these feelings through the use of lessons tailored specifically to preteens' developing world view. For example, debates on touchy moral issues (i.e. drugs or alcohol) are sometimes introduced in the upper elementary school grades, as well as classes on current events.
Preteens are also known for their brand consumption, and are a heavily targeted market of many advertisers. Their tendency to buy brand-name items may be due to a desire to fit in, although the desire is not as strong as it is with teenagers. Many of these brands names fall under clothing and music.

'Sexy' Preteen Fashion: Bratz Dolls
From the essay: 'There’s something undeniably disconcerting about seeing teen and preteen girls dressed to emulate their idols like Britney Spears - decked out in butt-grazing mini skirts and tight, belly-baring T-shirts. And probably the only thing even more alarming than that sight is seeing a similarly sexy outfit on girl who’s still in kindergarten. It’s a phenomenon that has child development experts worried and some parents fighting mad.
“Little girls are being encouraged to immerse themselves in the preoccupations of adolescence,” says Susan Linn, co-founder of the Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood (CCFC). “They are going straight from preschool to teenager and skipping over the important development stages that should take place during middle childhood.”
But it’s not just pop stars who are to blame for popularizing looks that are too sexy for grammar school. The latest culprit in this culture war is something seemingly innocent - a line of dolls. The Bratz are marketed as dolls with “a passion for fashion.” Fashions that include low-cut jeans and halter tops worn over little girl-like bodies. "The dolls encourage girls to think about themselves as sexualized objects whose power is equated with dressing provocatively,” says Linn.'

Middle School Girls Gone Wild
From the essay: 'The scene is a middle school auditorium, where girls in teams of three or four are bopping to pop songs at a student talent show. Not bopping, actually, but doing elaborately choreographed re-creations of music videos, in tiny skirts or tight shorts, with bare bellies, rouged cheeks and glittery eyes. They writhe and strut, shake their bottoms, splay their legs, thrust their chests out and in and out again.
.. It is news to no one, not even me, that eroticism in popular culture is a 24-hour, all-you-can-eat buffet, and that many children in their early teens are filling up. ... What surprised me, though, was how completely parents of even younger girls seem to have gotten in step with society’s march toward eroticized adolescence - either willingly or through abject surrender. And if parents give up, what can a school do?'

From the website: 'Being the parent or guardian of a preteen is not as scary as it sounds! Most of the time they are struggling to be independent and to fit in at school, at home, and with friends. Keep in mind that helping your preteen to become an adult takes time, patience, and a commitment.
There are two things to remember: preteens need lots of love and they need a caring adult to show them right from wrong.

Bikini Babies: Preteens, Summer Body Image, Beauty & Society
Just the thought of summertime sends many females into a frenzy, worrying about getting back into last year's bathing suit. But what if that female is only 8 or 10 years old? Should girls this young really be concerned with the appearance of their bodies? Whether or not they should be, more and more prepubescent girls are concerned about their body image.
According to Vernisha Shepard, a psychotherapist and clinical coordinator for the eating disorders clinic at Texas Children's Hospital, the number of young girls who show an unhealthy concern over body image increases during the summer months. 'It is getting more and more common for young girls to begin to have concern regarding their bodies,' she says. "Girls as young as 8 are now talking about their bodies and show a concern related to their weight and shape. When summer comes and people begin losing the layers of clothing, more attention is drawn to how we look. Young girls are learning this and basing their entire self worth on their bodies and beauty.'

Analyse any human emotion, no matter how far it may be removed from the sphere of sex, and you are sure to discover somewhere the primal impulse, to which life owes its perpetuation. ... The primitive stages can always be re-established; the primitive mind is, in the fullest meaning of the word, imperishable. ... Mans most disagreeable habits and idiosyncrasies, his deceit, his cowardice, his lack of reverence, are engendered by his incomplete adjustment to a complicated civilisation. It is the result of the conflict between our instincts and our culture. (Sigmund Freud)
