Site Introduction (2012): Despite several thousand years of failure to correctly understand physical reality (hence the current postmodern view that this is impossible) it is actually very simple to work out how matter exists and moves about in Space.
The rules of Science (Occam's Razor / Simplicity) and Metaphysics (Dynamic Unity of Reality) require that reality be described from only one substance existing, as Leibniz wrote;
'Reality cannot be found except in One single source, because of the interconnection of all things with one another'.
When we deduce this most Simple Science Theory of Reality we find that there is only one possible solution: Space must be the substance which exists and matter is formed from waves in Space. The electron is a spherical standing wave in Space. See Wave Diagrams
i.e. While there are many minds and material things, they all exist in one common Space (just look around you and think about it). We can then show that the Wave Structure of Matter is the correct solution as it deduces the fundamentals of Physics & Philosophy perfectly (there are no opinions).
I realise that there are a lot of 'crackpot' theories about truth and reality on the internet, but this solution is the most simple one and it is obvious once known (though it takes time for our minds to adjust to new knowledge).

In hindsight the error was obvious - to try and describe an interconnected reality from the foundation of many discrete and separate things, matter 'particles', which then required forces / fields to connect them in space and time. This was always just a mathematical solution which never explained how matter was connected across the universe.

For those who are religious / spiritual, I think Albert Einstein expresses the enlightened view of God. He writes 'I believe in Spinoza's God who reveals himself in the orderly harmony of what exists, not in a God who concerns himself with the fates and actions of human beings.' This harmony arises from a Wave Structure of Matter in Space (we are all interconnected in this space that we all commonly experience). This unity of reality (God, Brahman, Tao, Spirit, Energy, Light, Vibration) is central to all major world religions, thus their common moral foundation of 'Do unto others as to thyself' as the other is part of the self.

Please help our world (human society / life on earth) by sharing this knowledge.
Clearly our world is in great trouble due to human overpopulation and the resultant destruction of Nature, climate change and the pollution of air, land and water. The best solution to these problems is to found our societies on truth and reality rather than past myths and customs (which invariably cause harm).
We are listed as one of the Top Philosophy Websites on the Internet with around 600,000 page views each week, and rank in the top 20 in Google for many academic search terms - so we just need a bit of help to get in the top five. Given the Censorship in Physics / Philosophy of Science Journals (founded on the standard model / particle physics) the internet is clearly the best way to get new knowledge visible to the world.
A world now in great need of wisdom from truth and reality.
Sincerely,

Tantra embraces the natural energies of the bodies and connects you with cosmic, universal energy. It is becoming one with the other, and the very cosmos itself (Swami Nostradamus Virato)

Introduction

Introductory Quotes on the true meaning of Tantra by Tantric Buddhist Philosopher Lama Anagarika Govinda

The dynamic forces of the universe are not different from those of the human soul, and to recognise and transform those forces in one's own mind - not only for one's own good, but for that of all living beings - is the aim of the Buddhist Tantras.
The Buddhist does not believe in an independent or separately existing external world. The external world and the inner world are for him only two sides of the same fabric, in which the threads of all forces and of all events, of all forms of consciousness and of their objects, are woven into an inseparable net of endless, mutually conditioned relations.
The word 'tantra' is related to the concept of weaving and its derivatives (thread, web, fabric, etc.) hinting at the interwovenness of things and actions, the interdependence of all that exists, the continuity of in the interaction of cause and effect, as well as in spiritual and traditional development, which like a thread weaves its way through the fabric of history and individual lives. The scriptures which in Buddhism go under the name of Tantra (Tibetan: rg yud ) are invariably of a mystic nature, i.e. , trying to establish an inner relationship of things: the parallelism of microcosm and macrocosm, mind and universe, ritual and reality, the world of matter and the world of spirit. This is the essence of Tantrism. (Lama Anagarika Govinda, 1969)

The scriptures which in Buddhism go under the name of Tantra are invariably of a mystic nature i.e. trying to establish an inner relationship of things: the parallelism of microcosm and macrocosm, mind and universe, ritual and reality, the world of matter and the world of spirit. This is the essence of Tantrism. (Lama Anagarika Govinda, 1969)Tantra / Tantric Philosophy is founded on the Interconnection and Unity of the Universe. The human being does not exist in isolation, but is part of the One and is connected to all other matter in the universe. The human body in Tantra is seen as a microcosm of the universe (all that exists in the universe, exists also in the human body). The path of enlightenment is through recognising our connection to the dynamic unity of reality.

Through the intimate connection of body and universe in Tantric thought, we can understand how sex and orgasm can be seen as a cosmic and divine experience.
Sex may be used by Tantric's to heighten their energies / consciousness / connection to the universe which can aid healing (peace, wholeness, power, bliss) and growth (self esteem). The following quotes express different understandings of Tantra;

"In Tantra, sex is used as the cosmic union of opposites, to create the polarity charge that connects with the primordial energy from which everything arises in the universe .. the totality of All." [4]

"The greatest source of energy in the universe is sexual, and places high value on ritualised intercourse. Sexual orgasm is seen as a cosmic and divine experience." [5]

"Tantric sexual practices involve heightening sexual energy so that it can be utilized for spiritual growth and healing. They help you embrace the divine nature of your sexual energy and learn to flow it to the upper energy centers of your body." [6]

Many ideas of Tantric Philosophy can be found in other branches of philosophical thought. Such as the ancient Greeks (Thales, Heraclitus), Stoicism (Zeno, Marcus Aurelius) and the ancient Chinese philosophy of Taoism (Lao Tzu). In Western Philosophy / Science Gottfried Leibniz, B. A Spinoza and Albert Einstein realised the interconnection and unity of all things. However, all of these great minds of the past have never understood Reality, what exists (what matter is and how is it connected to all other matter in the universe). Thus the idea that 'All is One and interconnected' is without metaphysical foundation and lies in the dark depths of intuition and mysticism.

Western Science (founded on 'Particles' and 'Forces' in Space and Time) has never correctly understood how All is One and Interconnected as expressed in Eastern Philosophy and Tantric Mysticism.
Recent discoveries of the properties of Space and the Wave Structure of Matter (Wolff, Haselhurst) provide a scientific / logical explanation of the ancient Indian philosophy of Tantra. The Metaphysic of Space and Motion and the Wave Structure of Matter allows humans to understand, for the first time, how they exist in Space and are interconnected (sharing waves) with other Matter in the Space around them. Thus Matter and the Universe are One, humans exist as structures of the universe. Once we realise that matter is not made of discrete 'Particles', but rather from the Wave-Centers of Spherical Standing Waves, then it becomes quite simple to unite Western Science with Eastern Mysticism.

While this web page is an evolving work in progress, below you will find several interesting articles and links on the Philosophy of Tantra / Tantric Sex and on the left side of this page you will find links to the main articles which explain and solve many of the problems of modern physics, philosophy, metaphysics and theology from the foundations of the Metaphysics of Space and Motion and the Wave Structure of Matter.

Tantra / Tantric Art

The aim of Tantric Art is to express our connection to the universe through visual symbols and metaphors. The human body is represented as a symbol of the universe, Kundalini and the Chakras being the most important concepts.

Tantra has developed a system of thought which makes us see the universe as if it were within ourselves, and ourselves as if we were within the universe. Further the forces governing the cosmos on the macro-level are believed to govern the individual in the micro-level. According to tantra, the individual being and universal being are one. Thus all that exists in the universe must also exist in the individual body.
One of our major limitations in discovering this essential unity between the microcosm and the macrocosm is that we are accustomed to analyse the world into its separate parts, with the result that we lose sight of those parts' inter-relationship and their underlying unity. The way to fulfillment is through recognition of our wholeness linking man and the universe. This hence is the broad aim of Tantra art, achieved through visual symbols and metaphors.

Representation of the Human Body as a Symbol of the Universe

In Tantric thought the human body is visualized as a microcosm of the universe. It is believed that the complete drama of the universe is repeated in this very body. The whole body with its biological and psychological processes becomes an instrument through which the cosmic power reveals itself. According to tantric principles, all that exists in the universe must also exist in the individual body. If we can analyse one human being, we shall be able to analyse the entire universe. The purpose is to search for the whole truth within, so that one may realize one 's inner self, unfolding the basic reality of the universe. A Tantra text says: "He who realizes the truth of the body can then come to know the truth of the universe'. The two most important concepts associated with the human body are the chakras and Kundalini. In addition to helping realize the abstract conceptions of Tantra in visual terms, they reveal to the spiritual seeker the deepest truths of Tantric philosophy through metaphors and symbols.

Chakras
Tantra recognizes seven energy centers in the human body. These are known as 'chakras'. Chakra means "what revolves" and hence signifies a wheel. In a physical sense the chakras are visualized as lotuses, composed of different number of petals. Each chakra governs a certain sense organ, and has its own presiding deity.

Kundalini
The Sanskrit word kundalini means 'coiled-up'. The coiled Kundalini is the female energy existing in latent form, not only in every human being but in every atom of the universe. It may frequently happen that an individual's Kundalini energy lies dormant through his or her entire lifetime and he or she is unaware of its existence. The object of the tantric practice of Kundalini-yoga is to awaken this cosmic energy and cause it to unite with Shiva, the Pure Consciousness pervading the whole universe.

The static, unmanifest Kundalini is symbolized by a serpent coiled into three and a half circles, with its tail in its mouth.

In the microcosm of the human body, the Goddess Kundalini appears as a dormant energy, but able, when she wakes up, to destroy the illusion of life and lead to liberation. She can be awakened through the practice of what is known as Kundalini-Yoga, a unique branch of esoteric Tantra.

When the Kundalini is ready to unfold, she ascends from the Muladhara Chakra (root chakra, base of spine, four petals and rules the organ of smell, the nose. Its presiding deity is Brahma) to unite above the head with Shiva at the Sahasra Chakra (Sahasra in Sanskrit means thousand, and padma means lotus, this chakra hence is also known as "the thousand petalled lotus." It is located above the crown of the head. It governs the voluntary nervous system, and is said to be the seat of pure consciousness or ultimate bliss.) But before this merger she must ascend and pass through each of the five remaining chakras. As Kundalini reaches each chakra, that lotus opens and lifts its flower; and as soon as she leaves for a higher chakra, the lotus closes its petals and hangs down, symbolizing the activation of the energies of the chakra and their assimilation in Kundalini. The increasing number of lotus petals, in ascending order, may be taken to indicate the rising energy of the respective chakras, each functioning as a 'transformer' of energies from one potency to another.

Tantric Philosophy

On the main beliefs of Tantric Philosophy: All is One and Interconnected, Humans are part of the whole, the greatest source of energy in the universe is sexual, orgasm as a divine and sacred experience.

Tantra like Yoga or Zen, is a path to enlightenment, which has its roots in India. It is nicknamed the "science of ecstasy" and focuses on heightening and prolonging the special awareness and rapport that exists between lovers during lovemaking. This view holds that the greatest source of energy in the universe is sexual, and places high value on ritualized intercourse. Sexual orgasm is seen as a cosmic and divine experience.

Tantric philosophy also teaches that everything is to be experienced playfully, yet with awareness and a sense of sacredness in every gesture, every sensory perception, and every action. The path of Tantra is a spiritual one, which includes and appreciates the experience of our sexuality and sensuality as a conscious meditation, as a flowing together of the physical, erotic and cosmic energies.

If you were a devoted student of tantric philosophy, you would go through an extensive program of physical, sexual and mental exercises to heighten your sensory awareness. Through slow and thoughtful practice in lovemaking techniques you would learn to comfortably extend the time of lovemaking. In this way you would train yourself to be aware of not only your own feelings but also those of your partner. The spiritual part of tantra is to use your sexual energy to merge ecstatically with your partner and through him or her to become one with the cosmos or god.

A heterosexual couple practicing tantric intercourse seeks to prolong their sexual arousal. Following slow sensual touching a couple might move to having very slow intercourse. The man might place his penis just an inch or so inside his partner's vagina and without thrusting allow it to remain in this position for a full minute. Then he may gently withdraw from her vagina and rest his penis softly on her clitoral area. Usually the clitoris is the most sensitive part of a female's genitals and it is located just above the vaginal opening. After resting in this position for another minute the couple may decide to have him again slide his penis back in. During subsequent cycles of resting and entering the vagina, the male would rest outside the vagina and then eventually rest just inside the vagina. During the rest times, the couple might just lie silently together, or gently caress each other as they focus on the experience of their union. Throughout this experience both partners may be highly aroused, hovering close to the point of reaching orgasm on several occasions.

The art of prolonging the pleasures of lovemaking without reaching orgasm is described in the Kama Sutra, the Hindu sex manual written in the 4th century. "Karezza" is the term used to define a male's practice of pleasuring his partner and prolonging their intercourse by perpetuating his state of climax without actually ejaculating. These so called "dry orgasms", orgasms without ejaculation, are pleasurable, and still allow the sexual act to continue. The art of Karezza incorporates breathing control, meditation, work with postures, and finger pressure into the sexual act. Though sexually biased in its description as written (remember it was the 4th Century), the original focus of Karezza, prolonging the state of climax for a couple's mutual enjoyment, easily translates to both partners actively participating in learning to prolong their enjoyment before reaching orgasm.

Tantric Massage

The Tantric massage will make you feel as if you are in a trance, where physical boundaries dissolve, time disappears, worries and problems no longer seem important, or are forgotten altogether.

We will begin by having you recline on your back with pillows under your head and a towel covered pillow supporting your hips. Your legs will be slightly apart, your knees just a little bent. Your abdomen, thighs, feet, toes, chest, nipples and fingers are then gently massaged with warm aromatic oil. Nothing will escape attention. Your energy flow is stimulated and senses awakened as your body's sensitivity increases. According to Tantric ideals, your entire body will be massaged, including those particularly sensitive areas. Perceptions of sensuality and lust are located here, but these "intimate" areas are an important source of joy in life.

You will feel relaxed, yet wide awake. You will be coached to breathe properly, as you sink into yet deeper level of relaxation. In this very loving ceremony you will be completely nurtured and pampered in the arms of your goddess, giving you a feeling of comfort and sense of well-being.

Benefits of Tantra

What is Tantra and the purpose of Tantric sexual practices? On the benefits of Tantra (emotional, spiritual, healing).

What is tantra?

As a result of recent media hype, many people believe that tantra is a collection of sexual techniques to heighten pleasure. Actually, tantra is much more than that. It is an entire philosophy for living that helps you integrate your physical reality with your spirituality so you can experience bliss on Earth. It is a path of inner union and ultimately union with divine. Inner union occurs when you unite the divine male (Shiva) and female (Shakti) energies within yourself.

What are the benefits of practicing tantra?

There are many, many benefits. The greatest benefit is the awakening of an inner joy that you may have never known was there. You become able to open your heart to yourself at a deep level and make changes in your life that are aligned with your heart’s desires. In addition, by gaining mastery of your sexual energy, you manifest loving and fulfilling relationships, expand your capacity for spiritual ecstasy, and improve your health and vitality.

What is the purpose of tantric sexual practices?

Tantric sexual practices involve heightening sexual energy so that it can be utilized for spiritual growth and healing. They help you embrace the divine nature of your sexual energy and learn to flow it to the upper energy centers of your body, particularly your heart. When you do that, your sexual energy becomes a vehicle for the expression of love. In lovemaking there is an emphasis on igniting the woman's shakti (female sexual energy) which is seen as the creative doorway to the divine and therefore a sacred gift to men. When this happens a powerful circuitry of energy occurs which increases the vibration of love between partners.

Why is emotional healing work necessary to practice true tantra?

In order to experience ecstasy it is important to clear the path in the body - and that means healing emotional wounds stored in your cellular memory. With the guidance of an instructor, you can dissolve barriers that limit you and find a whole new level of freedom in your body and mind. In addition, because we live in a patriarchal world, most people experience disharmony between the male and female aspects of the psyche. Healing work helps bring about the integration of these parts of yourself, which is essential to manifesting healthy loving relationships.

Tantric Sex

What is Tantric Sex? On transforming the act of sex into a sacrament of love and spiritual union.

Tantric sex is meditative, spontaneous and very intimate lovemaking. You learn to prolong the act of making love and to focus on, rather than dispel, potent orgasmic energies moving through you, thereby raising the level of your consciousness. Tantra transports sexuality from simply doing to actually being. There is no end goal in Tantric sex, only the present moment of an ideal, harmonious union. Tantra teaches you to worship your sexual partner and to transform the act of sex into a sacrament of love. Lovemaking between two partners, when entered with awareness, can be a gateway to sexual and spiritual ecstasy alike. Tantric sex attempts to awaken powerful psychic energies within through which we can enter into higher states of consciousness.
