I think that Dr Milo Wolff will be very famous one day for his pioneering work on the Wave Structure of Matter. Thus I also think that my correspondence with Milo over 10 years (1998 - 2008) is important as I have collected several hundred letters which discuss how the Wave Structure of Matter explains and solves many of the fundamental problems of metaphysics, philosophy and physics. However, I have been quite busy building this fairly large website, so despite my good intentions this page is still very incomplete.
Milo Wolff is now 86, and I hope that he lives long enough to get some
of the recognition that he deserves (which is part of the purpose of this
page).

The Wave Structure of Matter - How Waves form 'Particles'
The Wave Structure of fundamental Particles evolved over five years. It began with a simple speculation that waves in Space could explain the de Broglie wavelength. It continued to agree with more laws and observations than I first expected and I was amazed. The 'Particle' is two identical spherical waves traveling radially in opposite directions so that together they form a spherical standing wave. The wave which travels inward towards the center is called an In-Wave, and the wave traveling outward is an Out-Wave. The nominal location of the ‘Particle’ is the Wave-Center, but as must be true for any charged Particle, it has presence everywhere in Space because the charge forces extend throughout the Universe.
How do Solid Bodies form from Waves?
The solid crystal array is a matrix of atoms held rigidly in space. How are the atoms suspended in space? We must conclude that the crystal’s rigidity derives from fixed standing waves propagating in a rigid wave medium. Calculations for diamonds and nuclear structure yields an enormous rigidity. This is really a separate argument about the rigidity of space, which is one of its properties.
What is a Light 'Photon'?
Two Spherical Standing Waves (SSW) oscillators exchange energy much like classical coupled oscillators, such as electric circuits or joined pendulums. The coupling provided by the non-linear centers of the resonances (high mass-energy density of space Wave-Centers) allows them to shift frequency patterned by the modulation of each other's In and Out-Waves. Since significant coupling can only occur between two oscillators which possess the same resonant elements, the frequency (energy) changes are equal and opposite. This we observe as the law of conservation of energy. When opposite changes of frequency (energy ) take place between two resonances, energy seems to be transported from the center of one resonance to another. We observe a loss of energy where frequency decreases and added energy where it increases. The exchange appears to travel with the speed of the In-Waves of the receiving resonance which is c, the velocity of light. When large numbers of changes occur together, we can sample part of it and see a beam of light (which causes the continuous electromagnetic waves of Modern Physics). When single exchanges occur we see 'photons' as discrete Standing Wave interactions. Thus the transitory modulated waves traveling between two resonances create the illusion of the 'photon particle'.

The following interview between Philosopher Geoff Haselhurst and Physicist Milo Wolff on the Wave Structure of Matter was filmed in 2000 on the grounds of Berkeley University in California. Milo Wolff is a fine theoretical physicist and one day he will no doubt receive a Nobel Prize for his pioneering work on the Wave Structure of Matter. I think you will find these video interviews to be interesting (at times amusing) and very informative about the problems of modern physics and how they can be solved by the Wave Structure of Matter.
The Digital Video has been compressed to about 6 Kilo Bytes per second (48kbits)
using Premiere 6.5 and the latest (November 2003) Windows Media 9 codec (format
.wmv, 12.5 frames/second, small screen size of 150 by 120). While the images
are a bit blurry at times, we have chosen small data size over image quality
to encourage people to download these videos, as they contain important information
(in a nice human friendly format!).
The interview is broken into ten video clips - from 60 seconds (360 KBytes)
to 180 seconds (1 MByte) so they download quickly (from 10 to 30 seconds on
DSL / cable, from 60 to 180 seconds on a 56 kbit modem). They should then play
automatically in Windows Media Player which is standard in Windows. NOTE: If
you press the play button before the video completes downloading (while buffering)
for some strange reason the download resets back to the beginning and you loose
what had already downloaded - so be patient, it will play automatically once

Milo Wolff (1,100K) 'I was curious!' - On his lifelong
(slightly obsessive) motivation to find the cause of the de Broglie
wavelength of Quantum Theory. His discovery (in
1986) that a Spherical Wave Structure of Matter deduced Doppler
shifts (due to relative motion of the Spherical In and Out-Waves and the
Wave-Center) that correctly corresponded to the de Broglie Wavelength of
matter. Of even more significance is the fact that within these same simple
wave equations were the correct terms for the Frequency-Mass-Energy
increases with Motion as deduced by Einstein' Special
Relativity. Thus for the first time finding a fundamental theoretical

Einstein represents matter as Continuous Spherical Electromagnetic Force
Fields - thus he is largely correct, matter is not a discrete and separate

spherical e-m fields rather than Spherical Standing Waves. Thus he was never
able to explain the discrete Energy transfers of Quantum Theory, which are
due to Standing Wave Interactions, which only occur at discrete frequencies
and thus energies. This Energy exchange is fundamental to all observation

Dear Geoff,
I have worked through 3/4 of your Chapter One on Truth and Reality:
The Theoretical Foundations of Physics and their Unification for your
book. I have stopped working at this point in order to send you what I have
already done. So far your work is astounding. You have drawn out exactly the
right material from Einstein's writing. I have learned from your writing a
great deal of his thinking and his perspective of basic physics that I have
never even dreamed of before. In a sense you have brought him back to life
for me.
You are more like Einstein than me.
It has provided me with a new dimension of your skills and knowledge of Science
Philosophy. I have never known a person who understands the nature of logic
and scientific thinking as well as you do. I am truly impressed with your skill
and insight into the philosophy of physics. I realize how important it is for
modern physicists to understand how Einstein thought and reasoned, but unfortunately
they have forgotten or never knew. Hopefully your writing will make up for

Your 'treatise' is superb! It covers an enormous ground, has human touches
for the tired reader, and for the first time I have ever seen, brings the
wisdom of older minds (Aristotle, Hume, Lorentz, Einstein, etc.) to bear
upon the problems of cosmology.
Further it is so complete (if ANYTHING can be complete) that it will surely
become a classic work on the philosophy of the Wave Structure of Matter (WSM).
It is so simple that the conclusions are also very correct and valuable for
any thinker. It contrast with many speculative books on cosmology (e.g. Smolin,
Weinstein, Davies) that contain many opinions and 'hopes', it is filled with
solid facts - presumably this is the value of philosophical thinking.
Your new use of the behaviour of the Spherical In-Waves to determine motion
and acceleration (of the Wave-Center 'Particle') is a grand innovation to WSM,
as is your simplified deduction of the 'Equation of the Cosmos' which is also
innovative and clever. This is so very basic that it further enhances the display
of the simplicity of Nature and the Truth of the WSM.
I am reading on page 6 of your Metaphysics of Space and Motion and I am very
impressed how the old philosophers got so close to the truth and your ability
to extract the truth from what they said, despite the carnival of ideas that
must have been passed around. Your work has continued to teach me how to think
and more deeply appreciate the meaning of the word TRUTH which most of us treat
so lightly never having learned what it means! Truth and human Ego are perpetual
combatants and ego usually wins.
In hind sight what the philosophers lacked to move ahead was just a knowledge
of wave behaviour in spherical co-ordinates which became known only after the
invention of optical apparatus and radio where such behaviour was measured
and understood... say 1850-1900.
Despite this logic, the favourite wave of Physics and Electrical Engineering
texts and teachers is Vector waves in Cartesian x-y-z co-ordinates which is
patently foolish since the energy of such a wave is infinite, no matter how
small you make the amplitude. They like it because it is the only solution
of a vector wave equation which they desperately want to believe because of
Maxwell's Equations which they also want to believe are fundamental. Logic
is no match for Belief.
Is that why it took another century to find the WSM?
The next problem is HOW to get it published. The only journal I know that accepts
such large articles is the Review of Modern Physics. You will need 'influence'
with the editors to get into this. Also maybe Physics Essays - I know the editor
and he likes new concepts, but it is a small circulation journal. Is there
a European journal that wants very long articles?
If we could persuade them, perhaps the Rockefeller or Ford or other Foundation
would like to publish it.
Another possibility is to break it up into separate pieces or topics, even
though that would be a shame. As Tom says, you will never get recognition unless
you have a string of articles. Maybe the Astrophysical J would like a piece.
The smaller the article, the easier it is to publish. Editors and referees
tend to get antsy and fear criticism if articles are long, especially if they
cannot understand the new work. What about the philosophy Journals? I don't
know them.

Major Work
Wolff has found the structure of the electron consisting of two spherical quantum waves, one moving radially outward and another moving radially inward. The center of the waves is the nominal location of the electron 'particle'. These waves extend to infinity, like charge force. All 'particle' waves mix and contribute to each other, thus all matter of the universe is interrelated by this intimate connection between the fundamental 'particles' and the universe. The natural laws are a direct consequence of this Wave Structure of Matter (WSM), thus WSM underlies all of science.
Three Principles underlie the WSM
Principle I. Wave Equation Determines the behavior of Quantum Waves in Space.
Principle II. mass-energy density Principle. Generalization of Mach's Principle - determines the density of the quantum wave medium.
Principle III. Minimum Amplitude Principle (MAP). The sum of Wave Amplitudes seeks a Minimum at each point in Space.

Project Narratives
Wolff's work at MIT (1963-69) on the structure of the atmosphere resulted in a $6 million contract for MIT to build apparatus that would scan the atmosphere in orbit and then compute the constituents over the entire earth. This scanning scheme and math method were the precursor to the MRI (magnetic resonance image) scheme developed five years later to scan the human body. In Singapore (1970-72) and at the Aerospace Corporation (1973-75), he did computer studies of the structure of rough surfaces of asteroids and planetary satellites seeking the cause of 'negative polarization' of reflected light - an 80 year old mystery of planetary astronomy. His results showed the cause to be multiple scattering of light and interior reflections in grains. This knowledge makes it possible to remotely measure the size of distant asteroids as well as the index of refraction of grains on distant surfaces. At the UN (1975-77) and privately (1978-present) he did the pioneering research on the Wave Structure of Matter, leading to a quantitative quantum wave structure of the electron/positron and the origin of the natural laws. He has shown how the fundamental particles, being in fact the Wave-Centers of Spherical Waves in Space, are intimately joined with the large-scale structure of the universe.
A Letter to a Friend of Milo Wolff (by Geoff Haselhurst)
I write this as a gift to Milo Wolff whom I admire and respect. I think he
is a beautiful person that I am privileged to know. Milo is a great thinker,
equal to Einstein in his awareness that;
Observation and experiment found reality, not mathematical theories (I like
his open minded skepticism)
Logic, based upon certain principles, must correspond with our senses.
Milo is remarkable in that he kept an open mind his entire life (discovery
of Wave Structure of Matter at age 63!) and realised that there must be a theory
which deduces the laws of Nature. Currently these laws are determined by measurement
alone (empirical), they had no theoretical (metaphysical) foundation.
Milo has discovered the theoretical foundations of the laws of Nature, and
thus the theoretical foundations of reality.
I am quite certain that the name Milo Wolff will be remembered as one of the
earliest and greatest of the the pioneer philosopher physicists who solved
what was pondered upon by such greats as; Pythagoras, Heraclitus, Plato, Aristotle,
Descartes, Galileo, Newton, Leibniz, Spinoza, Hume, Kant, Faraday, Maxwell,
Lorentz, Mach, Einstein, Planck, Bohr, de Broglie, Dirac, Schrodinger, etc.
.... a tiny fraction of the great minds of history that have wondered about
what we are as humans, how we have come to exist.
Finally this can now be understood. We are complexly evolved interactions
of wave centers of spherical standing waves the size of our universe.
Trillions and trillions of wave centers in a pin head, thus we are incredibly
complex!
These IN and OUT waves obviously (once known!) explain how we are able to
interact with the world around us, and thus how we can see distant stars
(light) and
how the earth can, for example, orbit the sun at such a distance (gravity).
Matter is large! It is spatially extended as a spherical standing wave. Just
because we only "see" the wave center, as a tiny particle, does not
mean we should be so naive to think that it is only the particle which exists.
(How do tiny particles interact with other particles distant in space???!)
The spherical standing wave structure of matter becomes very obvious once considered.
When we look at modern society (2003), it is clear both that;
1. Current humans have no comprehension of true reality. This is not their
fault, it is just our current state of human cultural evolution. We largely
live based upon market economics and "cultural truths" (myths).
2. If all humans grew up educated to true reality, to the spherical standing
wave structure of matter, then they would think and behave profoundly differently.
In time the entire world will understand truth and reality, and the world
will forever change because of it. I think it fair to say that this is the
greatest
step that humanity shall ever take. A step that shall shake and crumble the
structures of current human knowledge and lead to their new construction
from firm and abiding foundations from One thing, Space and its properties
as a
wave medium for spherical wave motions (matter). Thus I believe, quite passionately,
that from this ruin shall come a beautiful revival, a blossoming, flowering
renaissance of our world founded upon truth. For the first time ever, human
knowledge will be constructed from the firm foundations of true knowledge
of reality. And only then will the things we do with good intentions work,
for
they will be finally founded on a truth that will be logically consistent,
and will thus work for us.
This truth will be common to all of humanity, thus it will unite eastern
philosophy with western science and increase the wisdom of both.
This utopia is the world we continually evolve based upon truth - Where
each individual has free access to true knowledge such that they may make
informed
decisions about how to live.
Now I am not completely romantic. This truth will, at first, be hard on
humanity, and will be passionately fought for decades/centuries. But eventually
the
power of logic and its exactness with our senses will win out and be accepted.
This
acceptance of reality will lead to many fundamental changes in our consciousness.
I mention the four most important as I see it;
1. There is a fundamental reality (a physical space as a wave medium) and
matter is the particle effect we see at the wave center of spherical standing
waves
in this space, these wave systems are the size of the universe - thus humans
are the size of the universe (which explains why we can see stars across
the universe, as we are a part of them, and they are a part of us).
2. We have evolved as complex interactions of wave centers. We are machines in a sense, like computers but far more complex. Our software is the cultural ideas which have been created by others over thousands of years.
3. Because matter is spatially extended and so large it interacts with trillions and trillions and trillions .... of other wave systems/centers in the universe and this has allowed a complex ecology of interconnectedness to occur. Humans are only now realising this which is a great problem as most of the Nature and ecology of life on earth has been destroyed by humans and replaced by agriculture. This is clearly foolish and not sustainable.
4. There is no god to guide our fates, humanity must learn that we created the gods, but in reality it is we who are godlike. Only we humans can save ourselves, there is no one else. Humanity can only save itself with true knowledge of reality, anything else will not work! (The road to hell is paved with good intentions)
5. Morality - Matter, and hence humans, exist as structures of the
entire universe, thus the fundamental morality of 'Do unto others
as you would
have done unto
yourself', is true, as the other is in fact part of the self (our
discrete bodies are an illusion since we only see the wave-centers)
So I see this knowledge, first formalised by Milo Wolff, of the
Wave Structure of Matter as the greatest gift yet for humanity.
And personally,
Milo has
given me the greatest gift of confirming (mathematically) my own
ideas on the wave
structure of matter, that I am not alone in being certain that
reality can be known.

The natural laws had been measured for hundreds of years but no one knew how Nature creates them. Further, Einstein realised that matter was spherical and spatially extended and thus the Electron was not a point particle, but rather, a structure of space.
He writes;
Physical objects are not in space, but these objects are
spatially extended. In this way the concept empty space loses its meaning.
... Since the theory of general relativity implies the representation of physical
reality by a continuous field, the concept of particles or material
points cannot play a fundamental part, nor can the concept of motion. The particle
can only appear as a limited region in space in which the field strength or
the energy density are particularly high. (Albert Einstein)
Einstein's
error was to represent matter as a continuous spherical field in space-time
rather than as a Spherical Wave in continuous Space which causes
the spherical force field effects (as we shall shortly explain).
Using the WSM a quantitative origin has been found based on the wave structure
of the electron. It is shown that Space (the quantum wave medium) is a single
entity underlying electron structure and the laws. Three Principles are found
describing the wave medium, enabling calculation of particles and the laws.
The predictive power of the WSM is shown by deriving the previously unknown
physical origin of electron spin and making experimental predictions which
solve the paradoxes of the famous EPR experiment. The WSM has important implications
for research, industry, and our human role in the universe.

In l935, Einstein, Podolsky, and Rosen (EPR) put forward a gedanken (thought)
experiment whose outcome they thought was certain to show that there existed
natural phenomena that quantum theory could not account for. The experiment
was based on the concept that two events cannot influence each other if the
distance between them is greater than the distance light could travel in the
time available. In other words, only local events inside the light sphere can
influence one another.
Their experimental concept was later used by John Bell (1964) to frame a theorem
which showed that either the statistical predictions of quantum theory or the
Principle of Local Events is incorrect. It did not say which one was false
but only that both cannot be true, although it was clear that Einstein expected
The Principle to be affirmed.
When later experiments (Clauser & Freedman 1972; Aspect, Dalibard, and
Roger, 1982; and others) confirmed that quantum theory was correct, the conclusion
was startling. The Principle of Local Events failed, forcing us to recognize
that the world is not the way it appears. What then is the real nature of our
world?
The important impact of Bell's Theorem and the experiments is that they clearly
thrust a formerly only philosophical dilemma of quantum theory into the real
world. They show that post-modern physics’ ideas about the world are
somehow profoundly deficient. No one understood these results and only scant
scientific attention has been paid to them. With the recent discoveries on
the Wave Structure of Matter we can now understand the cause of these apparently
'spooky' actions at a distance.

In 1945 Wheeler and Feynman sought the mechanism of energy transfer by calculating e-m radiation from an accelerated electron. The electron generated outward and inward waves and evoked a response of the universe from absorber charges. This paper compares Wheeler and Feynman’s work with a rigorous solution using the scalar wave equation that finds a quantum-wave electron structure based upon two fundamental principles of Nature. This is equivalent to replacing the material point electron with a spherical quantum-wave electron, a new structure in main-stream thinking but fulfilling a proposal by Schrodinger (Quantum Wave Mechanics). Surprisingly, all the natural laws are found embedded in the wave structure of the electron – as envisioned by Schrodinger.

to find the cause of the de Broglie wavelength of Quantum
Theory / Wave Mechanics. His discovery (in 1986) that a Spherical
Wave Structure of Matter deduced Doppler shifts (due to
relative motion of the Spherical In and Out-Waves and the Wave-Center) that
correctly corresponded to the de Broglie Wavelength of matter. Of even more
